In the Theogony, all things begin with Chaos… Before the sky and the earth were formed, what wrapped around everything and filled the whole cosmos was in truth but one single being, and its name today is Chaos. Chaos came before all things; and after it were born Gaia, mother of the earth; Tartarus, god of the abyss beneath; Erebus, god of darkness; Nyx, goddess of the night; and Eros, god of love. From these the world took its beginning.
